Explanation on the Maintenance of High Pressure Centrifugal Fan Malfunctions

Due to its high rotational speed, the balance requirements for high-pressure blowers are also very high. Therefore, our company has conducted balance tests on the produced high-pressure blowers, especially the impellers of the fans. The impeller of a high-pressure fan is very sensitive to the balance around it, but the requirements for the slight imbalance in its center are not very strict. In response to this characteristic, we can use the following methods to repair fan impeller failures that are prone to occur:

(1) If the rivet head of the high-pressure fan impeller is worn, it can be welded by compressing the impeller body and hub to restore the worn rivet head to its original normal state.

(2) If fatigue cracks are prone to occur at the rivet hole, a new unused welding rod can be used to weld and repair the crack, but attention should be paid to symmetrically welding around the axis of the impeller. Leave the remaining welding rod at the crack repair location, and then use a new welding rod to repair the relatively symmetrical rivet hole crack. After welding, the remaining welding rod is the same length as the one left during symmetrical rivet repair to ensure that the weight of the welded repair is equal. If there are no cracks at the symmetrical rivet hole, the welding rod should also be welded here to offset the newly added welding weight at the symmetrical rivet hole crack. Welding using this symmetrical weight repair method can repair cracks.

(3) Conduct a simple dynamic balance test on the impeller of the high-pressure fan, and the method is also very simple. After supporting the impeller, gently rotate it by hand. If it cannot reach balance, it will stop at the Z low point and swing left and right. If there is a bias, spot welding can be done on the opposite impeller to increase its weight and balance it, or the welding marks on the bias impeller can be ground off with an angle grinder to achieve balance. This way, the high-pressure fan can be repaired and work normally.

Attention: During the repair process of the high-pressure fan, welding and spot welding should not be used randomly. Leave welding marks on the impeller to avoid affecting the balance of the high-pressure fan impeller, which not only fails to achieve the purpose of repair, but also causes greater losses.
